Chef-K and Start at the Table

By: Laurie Zerga

I’m super excited to share this book Start at the Table and information with you. I’ve discovered that when you change the food, you change everything. I can’t promise you miracles, yet I’ve seen them with my own eyes. I have a friend who was diagnosed with heart disease. He was scheduled for a major coronary surgery. During a delay with surgery, he uncovered the possibility of changing his diet to completely plant-based. All his symptoms went away. He never did have surgery. I have another acquaintance who was diagnosed with stage-4 cancer, and subsequently changed her diet and lifestyle. Her cancer went completely into remission. If changing diet can help serious health issues, what can it do for you and your family’s health?

When I say food can change everything, I mean everything. Here’s an example: I once met a woman at a conference, and we were talking over a few days. I said to her, “Wow, Anya, you have everything! You’re married, and you have children and a business you love. She replied, “It wasn’t always like this. I had a job I hated, I wanted to divorce my husband, and my children had eczema and asthma, as did I. We were unhealthy. I was stressed, and I just wanted to run away, but I couldn’t do it. I realized all I could do was look at myself. I ended up quitting my job, starting a business that I love, following my passion, and focusing on the family and how we eat. Now, the children and I are allergy symptom-free, and the relationship with my husband is better than the honeymoon phase. Life is good.”

I’m not guaranteeing this will happen to you. I’m not saying you can improve everything with food. You should seek medical help if you suspect a health issue. In many traditions, food is medicine. Why not complement science and medical advice by learning the possible health benefits of eating healthy food, around a table with your family? I believe you can be proactive about your food choices for your family, and launch them into a fit and strong physical foundation.

I’m about to take you on a journey; there’s space for you to journal, take notes, and really think about the role food and diet take in your family’s life. Food is a basic need; it’s the fuel our bodies use for life. It can impact how you feel, as well as your health and your relationships. So, let’s explore together.

Thanks for joining me.
